Women’s History Month gave STL Black Biz a chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate the women whose work continues to shape our communities, businesses, families, and future.

It was more than a month of recognition.

It was a reminder that history is still being written by women who lead, serve, build, heal, create, and open doors for others.

Throughout the month, STL Black Biz highlighted the power of legacy and visibility. These stories were not just about titles, awards, or accomplishments. They were about impact. They were about women who showed up when the work was hard, when the path was unclear, and when their presence made room for someone else to believe they could do it too.

Remembering Dr. Helen E. Nash

One of the most meaningful spotlights was on Dr. Helen E. Nash, a pioneering physician whose life and work left a lasting mark on St. Louis and beyond.

Dr. Nash was more than a doctor.

She was a healer, a trailblazer, and a trusted figure in the community. Her story sparked heartfelt memories from people who remembered her care, her professionalism, and the way she made families feel seen and valued.

That is the beauty of true legacy.

It lives beyond the moment. It shows up in the stories people still tell, the gratitude they still carry, and the lives that were changed because someone chose to serve with excellence.

Why This Month Matters

Women’s History Month also reminded us that Black women have always been at the center of progress.

From health care and education to entrepreneurship, advocacy, media, beauty, wellness, and community leadership, Black women continue to build spaces that reflect strength, creativity, and purpose.

Their contributions are not side notes.

They are part of the foundation.

For STL Black Biz, this month was also about connection. Every spotlight, post, and conversation was an invitation to remember, support, and celebrate the women who make our communities stronger.

The Work Continues

As Women’s History Month closes, the mission does not stop.

STL Black Biz will continue telling stories that matter, amplifying Black-owned businesses, and celebrating the people whose work deserves to be seen.

Because history is not just something we look back on.

It is something we build together.
