STL Black Biz Celebrates Black Business Month.
National Black Business Month was founded by Frederick Jordan and William Templeton to “drive the policy agenda affecting the 2.6 million African-American businesses.
Being a black business owner can be challenging, but also rewarding with hard work, discipline, and persistence. Frederick Jordan noticed the support was not there for black entrepreneurs. Jordan partnered with John William Templeton to create National Black Business Month, which highlights, encourages and supports Black business owners.
Others have also joined in to celebrate. Facebook is one organization taking part. During the month of August Facebook is investing in the Black Business Community with a month-long series offering business spotlights and training. Learn more by visiting Facebook.
Facebook will be hosting virtual events on health, finance, and fashion. They will also showcase the stories of Black-owned Black businesses and also partner with the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. Facebook’s Instagram offers a number of resources to help businesses to stay on top of their game. You will have access to tips, insights, questions, and answers, how-to ideas and mores.
